Please note: From 6:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., there will be extra traffic from athletes and spectators in Desert Color.
Please join our community in cheering on these amazing athletes as they swim, bike, and run through Desert Color.
The lagoon beaches will be open for spectators to watch the athletes swim at 8:45 a.m.
We ask that you take extra caution that day and watch for signs to help avoid accidents, as the athletes will be throughout the community and on our streets. Maps and routes will be posted soon!
We encourage you to join in on some of the communal festivities celebrating the Huntsman World Senior Games.

As part of our upcoming Día de la Vida | Celebration of Life, we invite you to create a Nicho—a small shadowbox remembrance display honoring someone special who has passed.
Inspired by the beautiful traditions of Día de los Muertos, Nichos are meaningful works of art created to remember and celebrate the lives of loved ones and beloved pets. They can be colorful, whimsical, heartfelt, or beautifully simple—there is no right or wrong way to tell a story.
WHO WILL YOU HONOR?
A beloved parent or grandparent.
A dear friend.
A cherished child.
A beloved pet.
Someone whose memory still brings a smile to your face.
Fill your Nicho with photographs, favorite objects, flowers, meaningful symbols, artwork, or little reminders of what made them special. Let your creativity tell their story.
THE NICHO GALLERY
Submitted Nichos will be proudly displayed during our Día de la Vida celebration, creating a beautiful community gallery of remembrance, love, and life. Guests will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite Nicho, with special recognition for the display that captures their heart. Amazing prizes will be awarded for the Nicho with the most votes!
This is more than a creative project—it’s an opportunity to honor a life, preserve a memory, and share a story with our community.

It’s time to decorate, create, and get your wheels rolling! The Annual Pumpkin Derby is making a colorful comeback at Dia de la Vida Desert Color on October 23!
All you need is a pumpkin, a set of wheels, and a whole lot of creativity to race your way to glory. Transform your pumpkin into a Dia de los Muertos masterpiece with vibrant colors, papel picado-inspired designs, marigolds, sugar-skull details, or anything your imagination can dream up!
BONUS CHALLENGE!
This year, we’re celebrating the spirit of Día de los Muertos, and extra points will be awarded for the most creative Day of the Dead-themed pumpkins!
So grab your pumpkin, gather your decorating crew, and start creating your rolling masterpiece. Then get ready to race, cheer, laugh, and celebrate at one of Desert Color’s most entertaining—and delightfully unpredictable—traditions!
